Pledge Fantastic unplastic ♻️ for Plastic Free July
Plastic is everywhere. It doesn’t need to be. We can be part of the solution this July by refusing to use single use plastic.
🌱 New to it 🌱
- Use a reusable shopping bag.
- Use tap water instead of buying bottled.
- Get yourself a reusable coffee cup for those takeaway drinks.
🤸🏽 Doing it 🤸🏽
- Having a picnic? Ditch disposables – use reusable cutlery and straws, and bring your food in reusable containers.
- Find your nearest zero waste shop with this map and refill your jars and cleaning product bottles.
- Audit your hygiene essentials – switch to shampoo bars, soap bars, reusable razor heads, and bamboo toothbrushes!
🙌 Done it 🙌
- Avoid synthetic clothes where possible – or buy a GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag to help stop the microfibres from making their way to the ocean.
- Be bold – ask your favourite takeaway place to put your order in your reusable containers, instead of collecting more plastic containers and bags.
- Get your milk delivered by a local milkman.

Pledge to Tap it 💦 to reduce single use plastic
In 2020, approximately 2.54 billion litres of bottled water were consumed in the UK. It doesn’t need to be this way.
🌱 New to it 🌱
- Buy a reusable water bottle and start using it. Our favourite bottles are from Give me a tap.
- Find refill spots around the UK with this app.
🤸🏽 Doing it 🤸🏽
- Specifically ask for ‘Tap water’ next time you are in a bar or restaurant.
🙌 Done it 🙌
- For those long journeys, camping trips or picnics take a collapsible water container in case there are no facilities to fill your bottles.

🌱 New to it 🌱
- Organise a regular shared zero-waste lunch at your workplace with these shareable recipes.
- Start a regular shared dinner with friends with these recipes to feed a crowd – you could even theme it!
🤸🏽 Doing it 🤸🏽
- Pay it forward – find a cafe or restaurant where you can pay forward the cost of a coffee, lunch or dinner to help provide meals to people most in need, like Social Bite.
- Donate food to a food bank.
🙌 Done it 🙌
- Volunteer to stop UK Hunger. The Trussell Trust is a good place to start.
